Our women's self-defense program is built around practical, real-world situations — not sport competition. You'll learn how to escape common grabs and holds, develop situational awareness, and build the confidence to protect yourself when it matters most.
Led by instructors Katie Hart and Kasia Peterson, this class is grounded in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu principles — leverage, timing, and technique that work regardless of your size or strength. This isn't a watered-down version of what the guys do. It's real technique built for real scenarios women actually face.
Whether you've never stepped on a mat or you're looking for a supportive environment to continue your training, you belong here. Many women who start in this class go on to train in our regular adult BJJ and Mixed Kick classes as well.
What To
Expect
Show up in comfortable workout clothes — that's all you need. No experience, no gear, no partner required. You'll be welcomed into a supportive, women-only environment from the moment you walk in.
Class starts with a warm-up, then moves into technique instruction where you'll work with a partner on practical self-defense scenarios. The pace is approachable and the coaches meet you exactly where you are.
After class, you're welcome to hang around, ask questions, and check out the gym — including our sauna, cold plunge, and recovery area. No pressure, no sales pitch. Just come see if it feels right.
